Reason 1 - The Federal Debt

My name is Mark N. Ludwig and I live in Seattle, Washington, the heart of the great Pacific Northwest.  I'm a husband, father, Catholic Christian, Republican, government affairs and public relations expert and aficionado of politics, history, Ernest Hemingway, C.S. Lewis and the New York Yankees.

Today is Wednesday, April 18, 2012 and, according to my count, there are exactly 203 days left until the 2012 presidential election between Governor Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama.  I'm greatly concerned about my daughter's future and the future of this country. I believe with all of my heart, mind and soul that President Obama has been and continues to take us down a path of economic and moral destruction.  I also believe, just as strongly, that Governor Mitt Romney has exactly what it takes to correct the ills of the past several years and put our country back on the track to greatness once again.

Please let me be perfectly clear, ladies and gentlemen.  I do not hate or even dislike President Obama in any way, shape or form.  I'm certain that he is a well intended person, a fine American and a good father and husband.  He is the president of my country and I will always give him and the office of the president the respect that they deserve. Sadly though there are 1,001 different reasons flying through my head as to why President Obama should not be re-elected.

There are easily 1,001 reasons why Governor Romney should be chosen over President Obama in November and I will attempt to lay out those 1,001 reasons here in a clear and cogent manner.

Some of these blog pieces will be much longer than others and some days will show many entries while other days may show none.  Regardless, all 1,001 reasons will be written by election day  highlighting why President Barack Obama should not be re-elected and why Mitt Romney can and must become the next leader of our country.  I personally believe that any one of the reasons are easily enough on their own to not vote for Obama in November.  That, however, is up for you, the reader, to decide.

The 1,001 reasons will not be listed in any order of importance or priority other than today's reason, Obama and the Federal Debt, which I feel is the most vitally important challenge that America is facing today.  It's also the public policy issue on which Obama has failed the most miserably.

On February 23, 2009, Obama vowed to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term.  Here are his exact words:  "Today I'm pledging to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office.  This will not be easy.  It will require us to make difficult decisions and face challenges we've long neglected.  But I refuse to leave our children with a debt that they cannot repay - and that means taking responsibility right now, in this administration, for getting our spending under control."

Here is the video feed of his lie:  Obama Lying to the American People

Obama has instead increased the federal debt by over $5 trillion since taking office..  I refer you to this wonderful article from the Catholic Online web site:  http://www.catholic.org/politics/story.php?id=45344

Greece continues to hang by a thread as it continues to teeter on the verge of a complete economic meltdown.  Greece's problems are almost solely attributable to its out of control spending and gargantuan deficits.  America will not be far behind if we don't get our spending under control.  Obama has increased the federal debt more in his first three years in office than President George W. Bush did in all eight years of his.  This out of control spending must come to an end and it must come to an end now!

Obama has always loved to talk a pretty talk and his words and promises have always sounded delightful.  Sadly for him, though, his days of standing only on his words and dramatic speeches are now over.  His record while in office speaks for itself and that record is beyond horrific when it comes to out of control spending.

The complete economic destruction of the United States is not far at hand unless Obama is voted out of office.  We not only owe it to our children and our future generations, but we owe it to ourselves.  There is no greater threat to the security and prosperity of the United States than the skyrocketing federal debt brought about by President Barack Obama.  Governor Mitt Romney will bring spending back under control with his fiscal conservatism, his extraordinary business experience and his willingness to make the toughest of decisions for the good of our country.

Obama's record on the federal debt is easily reason enough alone to vote him out of office.  Stay tuned though and I'll nevertheless give you another two hundred reasons to end his reign.
